Lesson1

Takashi: Okay. So, this is your favorite restaurant. What’s good here again?

Emily: I think pasta with white clam sauce, but let me ask my friend.

Emily: Hey Sarah. Long time no see! How are you doing?

Sarah: Hi Emily, thanks for coming!

Emily: This is Takashi from Japan. He came here for a visit and I thought it would be nice to bring him to the best restaurant in New York!

Sarah: Oh, thank you! Hi Takashi. Nice to meet you. I’m Sarah. Takashi: Hi, Sarah. Nice to meet you too.

Lesson 3

Takashi: Thank you Sarah. What do you recommend?

Sarah: Yes, of course! This restaurant is famous for (its) seafood. So, I would say mixed
seafood salad as an appetizer and everyone loves our pasta with white clam sauce.

Emily: You should definitely try their pasta!

Takashi: Then I’d like the mixed seafood salad and the pasta.

Sarah: And to drink?

Takashi: White wine, please.

Sarah: Sure. Glass or bottle?

Takashi: Just a glass, thank you.

Lesson4

Takashi: How are you doing?

Emily: Not too bad. But my apartment’s a disaster and I don’t like my landlord’s attitude.

Takashi: What about his attitude?

Emily: There’s water dripping from the ceiling of my room.

He keeps saying he’s going to fix it, but he never does.

And, he never apologizes to me.

Takashi: What about his attitude?

Emily: There’s water dripping from the ceiling of my room.

He keeps saying he’s going to fix it, but he never does.

Also, he never apologizes to me.

Takashi: Sorry to hear that. Is there anything I can help you with?

Emily: No…but thank you for asking.

Takashi: Well, it’s a difficult situation,

but it’s not the end of the world, you know?

I’m sure things will get better soon.
